General Insurance Corporation of India consolidated sales up 11.95% on year in Q2FY2026

General Insurance Corporation of India share price inched up 1.16% to Rs 352.3 after the company's net profit tumbled by 31.85% to Rs 1620.94 crore, while revenue from operations edged up 11.95% to Rs 11097.77 crore in Q2FY26 over Q1FY26. The market capitalization of General Insurance industry group stocks on BSE stood at Rs 2.6 lakh crore, rising 4.56%. It has softened by 0.80% over last one week and eased lower by 5.32% in last one month while the market capitalization of General Insurance Corporation of India has eased by 0.18% and 9.43% in the same period respectively. Profit before tax (PBT) of General Insurance Corporation of India stood at Rs 2191.78 crore in Q2 FY26, plunging by 17.72% year-on-year, and tanking 29.47% quarter-on-quarter. EBITDA came in at Rs 1849 crore, nosediving by 27.38% YoY and easing 1.75% sequentially. Total expenses advancing by 18.42% to Rs 12219.82 crore in Q2FY26 over Q2FY25. During the quarter, employee benefits expense was at Rs 87.89 crore, witnessing a strong rise of 71.83% YoY. For the TTM ended FY26, revenue from operations grew marginally by 8.92% to Rs 36711.83 crore, while net profit grew slightly 7.16% to Rs 6973.96 crore, compared to previous TTM. EBITDA jumped by 699338% to Rs 8455.84 crore, and PBT rose 14.89% to Rs 9104.64 crore compared to previous TTM. General Insurance Corporation of India plunged by 8.70% in last one year, underperforming the benchmark BSE Sensex which has slipped by 3.21% during the same period.
